Waterfall Bay 1 (f. Katharine Yip) It is long believed that the waterfall at Waterfall Bay, attracted British ships coming to Hong Kong to fetch fresh water after long journeys. Some stated that this water was so sweet that the harbour it flowed into also turned sweet, thus gave rise to the name "Hong Kong", meaning "fragrant harbour" in Chinese based on the pronunciation in Cantonese. Beside the Waterfall, is this pillbox that faces the sea from whence the sailors came. The image is one of gentle serenity that remembers a bygone age.
